Dear Self Insured Companies The Myogauge documents the voluntary physical effort a claimant exerts on the low back muscles. This effort is recorded on the Myogauge graph. The graph reads like a lie detector. It tells the reviewer the following: 1. The pain level the claimant is experiencing. 2. Did the claimant exert a maximum effort. 3. Is the claimant within a percentage parameter of a valid test. 4. Has the claimant psychologically influenced the test by pre-determining the outcome of the test. 5. And lastly, the data is compared to normative data. Additional computations which are proprietary determine whether the claimant is a malingerer or not. These decisions are evaluated and determined by our staff of doctors. The cost of the test is determined geographically. The Myogauge is portable and therefore we can test at any suitable location.
